An Uber driver carrying two passengers witnessed a narrow escape following a collision that drove a scaffolding piece through his vehicles windshield in Los Angeles. The incident occurred around midnight in the vicinity of Sunset Boulevard and North Reno Street within the Silver Lake neighborhood.

A video captured at the scene displayed a section of the scaffolding invading the vehicle and coming dangerously close to the drivers seat. The accident was reported on December 23, 2024.

The Uber driver narrated that the erratic driving of another motorist led him to steer his Lexus into the scaffolding. He added that the driver, suspected of being under influence, fled the scene before the polices arrival. Despite their engagement before the escape, the other driver managed to share his contact details with the Uber driver.

Both passengers in the Uber vehicle were reported safe, suffering no injuries in the crash. The involved agencies are likely to launch further investigations into the matter to establish the actual cause of the incident and to locate the other driver.
