A serious two-vehicle collision resulted in three fatalities in the City of Industry, as reported by California Highway Patrol (CHP) authorities. The incident occurred late Tuesday night, on January 14, 2025, specifically at the crossroads of Temple and Azusa avenues around 10:45 p.m.
The collision involved a gray Jeep and an unidentified black vehicle. Based on the CHP report, the gray Jeep t-boned the black vehicle which triggered both vehicles to tally roll over. The substantial effect of the crash was evident at the scene with KTLA video footage revealing severely damaged vehicles. While the Jeep exhibited substantial damage but retained its recognizable form, the black vehicle was completely mangled beyond recognition.
According to the specifics provided by CHP representatives, two of the fatalities were passengers in the black vehicle. The third casualty was rushed to a hospital but later succumbed to their injuries. However, the official report could not immediately corroborate which vehicle this third victim occupied at the time of the collision.
Authorities confirmed the driver of the Jeep had been apprehended following the crash. Whether the Jeep driver was impaired at the time of the crash and subjected to DUI charges remains unclear as the CHP spokesperson could not readily confirm this aspect of the case. At this time, no further details are available relating to this tragic incident.
The report sourced its information from contributions made by Alexis Lewis and KTLA photojournalist Dan Lunsford.
