On February 14, a suspect driver was apprehended following a car chase and collision in Simi Valley, California. While patrolling in the vicinity of Sequoia Avenue and Coastal Oak Drive around 11 p.m., law enforcement officers observed the driver disregarding a stop sign. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle for the violation but were met with resistance as the driver reversed before rapidly accelerating away, thereby initiating a vehicle pursuit.

The driver, exhibiting reckless behavior, clocked high speeds as they maneuvered on surface roads before finally colliding with a pole in proximity to the onramp to the eastbound 118 Freeway. Post-collision imagery shows the wrecked vehicle stationary in a brush area in the vicinity of the onramp.

The driver was subsequently taken into custody and transported to Ventura County Main Jail where they were charged with felony evading. The Simi Valley Police Department, which managed the situation, did not release any additional details of the incident, including the identity of the driver arrested.
