A brutal vehicular collision resulted in a street tamale vendor and two others, one a minor, getting rushed to the hospital in Koreatown, Los Angeles on Monday morning. The collision took place just before 6 a.m. at the intersection of Western Avenue and 3rd Street according to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD). Preliminary information suggests that two sedans, a black Chevrolet Volt and a red Kia Stinger collided with each other at the location.

The impact evidence indicates they subsequently veered towards the sidewalk, hitting a pedestrian. This individual has been identified as a vendor actively selling tamales at that time. The exact condition of the victims upon admission to the hospital has not been released, although it was clarified by LAFD Public Information Officer, Cpt. Adam VanGerpen, that none were in critical condition.

In the aftermath of the accident, aerial footage captured by Sky5 showed debris strewn across 3rd Street, with the two sedans positioned significantly apart on opposite sides of the road. This led Cpt. Van Gerpen to suggest that the collision likely occurred at high speed, resulting in the extent of the impact and subsequent dispersion of the vehicles. He further advised the public to be cautious and to slow down when driving, especially during early morning hours.

The intersection at Western Avenue and 3rd Street was expected to remain closed for several hours following the incident for investigation purposes.
