A dramatic incident transpired in the early hours of the day when a speeding motorist lost control of their vehicle in a residential area in Redondo Beach, California. This led to the vehicle violently flipping into a local residences driveway. The ordeal occurred on Garnet Street at around 12 a.m., as reported by a KTLA viewer who submitted the video. The loud crash not only startled him but also his wife and daughter, forcefully waking them from their slumber.
The video of the incident from this viewer showcases a driver, maneuvering a small, white SUV, speeding down the narrow neighborhood street. Suddenly, the vehicle is launched into the air, presumptively after hitting a speed bump in the roadway. The vehicle is seen sparking from the bottom, hitting the front first before bouncing back from the rear and side to side in a haphazard manner.
The SUV then swerves past several parked vehicles and homes before hitting what is likely a curb, flipping over, and landing sideways in a homes driveway. The video footage revealed that the vehicle suffered heavy damage and was left lying on the passengers side in front of a residential garage door.
A local resident, who has resided on Garnet Street for 33 years and provided the video to KTLA, claimed never to have witnessed such an extreme incident in the neighborhood before. At present, it is still unclear whether there were any passengers in the vehicle or if the incident was drug or alcohol-related. A spokesperson from the Redondo Beach Police Department confirmed one person was transported to the hospital while another individual was taken into custody. The connection between these two parties, if any, is currently unknown.
