On January 6, 2024, in Temple City, California, a minor plane crash occurred in a backyard of a residential property in the 4900 block of Arden Drive, which is approximately a mile west of the El Monte Airport. This information was provided by the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The involved aircraft was a single-engine plane, which, as per the footage broadcasted by Sky5, appeared to have glanced off trees and shrubbery before crashing on top of a brick wall. It is suggested that the plane may have touched the home within that densely populated neighborhood. Nevertheless, the damage to the property didnt seem to be substantial.
The Sky5 reporter, Rich Prickett, noted that the two individuals from the aircraft were capable of walking away from the accident scene. Subsequently, they were evaluated by paramedics on site. The underlying cause of the crash remains undetermined and is currently under active investigation.
In an unfortunate incident last Friday, a father and his teenage daughter lost their lives in a similar plane crash involving a single-engine RV-10 aircraft in Fullerton. Rich Prickett of Sky5 in Temple City contributed to this report.
