A fatal road accident claimed the life of a San Bernardino County Sheriffs deputy on March 17, 2025. The incident occurred in Victorville in the vicinity of El Evado and Seneca roads, minutes before 12 noon.
According to Gloria Orejel, a department spokesperson, injuries were reported at the scene. However, the severity of these injuries was initially unclear due to the presence of live wires down in the area. Southern California Edison, the primary electricity supply company for much of Southern California, was dispatched to assist at the scene.
In the minutes leading up to the incident, a pursuit was reported in the local area. However, it has not been confirmed whether the chase is connected with the accident. Aerial footage from local news station Sky5 showed a vehicle split into two components, with the break occurring near the dashboard. Near this wreckage, the body of a deceased individual was spotted.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released by authorities. However, news reporter, Shelby Nelson of KTLA, confirmed that the fatality was an officer from the San Bernardino County Sheriffs Department (SBSD). At this time, the department has not corroborated this information. Further updates are awaited as investigations into the accident continue.
