Chrysler (FCA US, LLC), recently announced a recall for certain Jeep Cherokee 2022 models. The recall number 24V239000 concerns a defect in the steering column cited as the cause of the issue.

The flaw pertains to the turn signal self-cancelling feature, which, in some cases, may not operate correctly. As a result, these vehicles fall short of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, which entails Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.

The lack of proper function poses a potential safety risk as dysfunctional turn signals could fail to indicate the drivers direction-change intentions. This could possibly heighten the chance of a vehicle collision or crash. In response to this issue, Jeep dealerships will inspect and, if necessary, replace the steering column control module. This service will be carried out free of charge, aiming to prevent any possible mishaps or accidents from the defect.

Owner notification letters, detailing the recall information and instructions, were sent out on August 8, 2024. If you own the affected model and have not yet received a notification, or if you need additional information, youre encouraged to contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Please refer to the recall number, 24B, when inquiring or discussing this particular recall.

Considering the potential risk, Cherokee owners are urged to act promptly to this recall to ensure their safety and that of other road users.
