Ventura City Fire Department reported a vehicular accident that occurred on Loma Vista Road and North Victoria Avenue in Ventura city on a Saturday at around 1:45 p.m. The details of how the accident occurred are sparse, however, the consequences trapped the occupants of two vehicles, a pickup and an SUV.

Ventura Police were the first responders to arrive at the scene. They encountered a pickup truck lying on its side with two passengers who managed to get out by themselves, the term known as self-extrication. The second vehicle involved in the accident, an SUV, had crashed into a parked car, leaving the two people in it trapped. Their condition was assessed as critical. It was not specified whether the parked car was the pickup truck that was mentioned earlier.

Firefighters were dispatched to assist with the rescue operation shortly after the Police. The vehicle was stabilized and VCFD initiated the process of extrication using a hydraulic rescue tool commonly referred to as Jaws Of Life. Despite the complex nature of the rescue operation due to multiple trapped passengers, all patients were successfully freed within half an hour of the teams arrival.

Upon rescue, the four patients were transported to local hospitals. As of Saturday afternoon, VCFD reported that their conditions remain unknown.
