The identities of the two individuals killed in a plane crash in Fullerton have been released. The deceased are Huntington Beach residents, pilot Pascal Reid and his 16-year-old daughter Kelly Reid. The crash occurred on Thursday, January 2, 2025, when their Vans RV-10 aircraft, a single-engine homebuilt kit designed to seat up to four people, took off from the Fullerton Municipal Airport.

The father, who was piloting the plane, attempted an emergency landing back at the airport shortly after takeoff. However, the aircraft crashed onto the roof of a furniture manufacturing warehouse on West Raymer Avenue, approximately 1,000 feet from the runway. The crash triggered a fire within the building.

This tragic incident claimed the lives of both Kelly and Pascal Reid and injured 19 employees from the Michael Nicholas Designs warehouse situated in the crash site. Several victims endured burn injuries. Eleven individuals were transported to local hospitals for treatment, while eight others were treated and released at the scene. Firefighters fought to control the fire inside the building while nearby establishments were evacuated as a precaution.

This warehouse has since been red tagged following the plane crash. As of Friday, aviation officials proclaimed their commitment to discerning the events that led to the plane losing altitude. Initial examination of the communication between Pascal Reid and air traffic control indicated that the plane was experiencing an emergency that necessitated an immediate return to the airport.

Prior to his radio communication getting cut-off, noticeable panic and gasping were audible in Pascal Reids voice. According to a spokesperson for the NTSB, the plane appeared to make a 180-degree left turn before crashing around 1,000 feet short of the runway. Further investigation is ongoing, and more details are expected to be released within the coming week.
