On February 23, 2025, a male suspect was apprehended in Upland following a car chase and multiple vehicle collisions. The suspect, driving a stolen Ford F-150 truck, had entered the city limits when local police were alerted to his presence. The police attempted to stop the vehicle in the vicinity of Mountain Avenue and Arrow Highway. However, the driver refused to comply, setting off a high-speed pursuit.
Equipped with body-mounted cameras and supported by aerial assistance, police documented the suspect as he crashed the stolen vehicle into several other vehicles throughout the chase. Despite the dangerous conditions created by the suspects reckless driving, the pursuit ended in a Jiffy Lube parking lot, where the suspect abandoned the damaged truck and attempted to flee on foot. He was pursued by officers who tackled him to the ground after a short foot chase. The suspect attempted to evade police by climbing over fences into adjacent business premises before being finally taken into custody.
The drivers of the vehicles that were impacted by the suspects activities were transported to local medical facilities for treatment. The suspect, whose identity was not immediately released pending ongoing investigations, now faces numerous felony charges, including felony evasion resulting in injury. He is currently being held on a $1 million bail. Additional details or updates on the case were not released at the time of this report.
