A serious incident occurred early Friday, leading to a man being hospitalized for severe injuries after a collision with a traffic signal pole in Orange County, according to the Irvine Police Department.
The incident happened at 1:03 a.m. on Friday at the intersection of Modjeska and Still Night roads in Irvine. This accident was a single-vehicle crash involving this traffic signal pole and the mans vehicle. The impact resulted in the pole protruding nearly half way through the car.
On-site support arrived promptly, with both the Irvine Police Department and their partners from the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) attending. Upon arrival, the driver was quickly extricated from the damaged vehicle and swiftly transferred to a hospital due to the severity of his injuries. As per the Irvine PD statement, the driver suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash.
