On Wednesday, firefighters in Los Angeles switched to offensive mode to combat a fire that had invaded at least one unit in a row of townhomes. This was according to multiple provided reports from the California Highway Patrol and other news sources. The fire was initially reported at approximately 11:30 a.m. on North Larwin Avenues 10100 block.
Large columns of white smoke were observable emanating from at least one of the townhome units. This scene was captured by the video from Sky5. Authorities identified that the fire began as a vehicle fire in the garage attached to one unit. From there, it proceeded to engulf the entire garage before potentially extending into the adjoining living area.
The firefighting team managed to halt the spread of the blaze to the neighboring properties. By 11:55 a.m., it was evident that the fire was coming under control. This fire incident occurred inside a Chatsworth townhome on March 5, 2025.
The firefighting crews gained an upper hand due to favorable weather conditions. A rainfall that morning had soaked much of the area, which was anticipated to persist intermittently throughout the day. According to KTLAs Rich Prickett in Sky5, the inhabitants of the affected home were able to evacuate safely without incurring any injuries, a fact later confirmed by LAFD. To ensure that the blaze did not spread further, additional firefighters were deployed, and a primary and secondary search was conducted. Presently, the fire is undergoing an investigation.
