On October 25, a Southern California father, Adam Bouvet, 50, was fatally struck by an out-of-control vehicle while shielding his family in a heroic act. Mr. Bouvet was in Dallas, Texas with his wife, Tracy, and their daughter visiting their eldest daughter and grandchild at the time of the incident.

According to reports, moments after sharing a family meal, a vehicle lost control, hopped over a curb, and crashed into them during their walk home. Multiple sources confirmed that Adam Bouvet pushed his family away from the imminent danger, taking the full impact. The severity of the collision left Adam with a traumatic brain injury, for which he underwent emergency surgery. Despite medical intervention, Adam later succumbed to his injuries in the ICU.
