Chrysler (FCA US, LLC), the manufacturer of Jeep vehicles, has officially recalled certain 2024 Jeep Wrangler models. The recall comes in the light of a defect related to the vehicles exterior lighting, specifically the tail lights.
The defect, officially filed as Recall Number 24V585000, involves incorrect tail lights that may become obstructed by the spare tire. Consequently, these vehicles fail to comply with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.
” In effect, the obstructed tail lights can significantly reduce these vehicles visibility to other drivers on the road. This increased risk of reduced visibility could potentially lead to dangerous situations and increase the chances of a collision or crash. To rectify this issue, dealers of Jeep Wrangler will replace the faulty tail lights free of charge. Jeep Wrangler owners should take note that official owner notification letters outlining the recall were mailed out on August 29, 2024. Owners can get in touch with FCA Customer Service at the contact number 1-800-853-1403 for additional assistance regarding this recall. The number assigned by the FCA for this specific recall is 90B.
