Hyundai Motor America has announced a recall for specific Genesis 2024-2025 GV60 hybrid and 2025 GV80 vehicles according to Recall Number 24V584000. The announcement comes as a result of a defect with the vehicles rearview camera systems.
The issue pertains to the back over prevention and sensing camera system which, in particular circumstances, may shut off while the vehicle is driven in reverse. This glitch creates a failure to comply with the requirements set by the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, pertaining to Rear Visibility.
Consequently, this issue could potentially decrease the drivers visibility, thereby increasing the risk of accidents or crashes.
As part of the remedy, dealerships associated with Hyundai are committed to updating the defective rearview camera software, free of charge to the vehicle owner. The corrective measure aims to reestablish the safety standards and ensure reliable rear visibility while reversing.
Hyundai began the process of individually notifying car owners about the recall via mail on September 11, 2024. Owners of the affected models who are yet to receive an update or those who may have additional queries can contact Genesis Customer service at 1-844-340-9741. The number specified by Hyundai for this recall is 024G.
Ensuring the safety and satisfaction of customers is Hyundais utmost priority, therefore the owners of these recalled vehicles are advised to get their cars software updated at the earliest.
