Former longtime mayor and council member of Camarillo city, Mike Morgan, has passed away following a car accident. The accident also left his wife, Donna, with severe injuries, as confirmed by the city.
Morgan, renowned for his service spanning over 38 years on the City Council which included six terms as Mayor, met with the fatal accident on Tuesday. Following the end of his political tenure in 2018, Morgan continued his active participation in the city through his engagement with area non-profit organizations and civic bodies.
Previously, former Councilman and City Manager Bill Little had lauded Morgans contributions towards the growth and development of the city. He acknowledged that the city we see today was largely shaped during Morgans time on the City Council.
Morgan, in a conversation with Acorn, had expressed his decades-long service was driven by a commitment to make Camarillo a favorable living place for his family and the residents. He emphasized the importance of improving and enhancing the citys living standards, which he strived to achieve during his tenure.
His significant contribution to the city has been acknowledged by many. His untimely departure is a considerable loss to the city and its residents. On behalf of the City Council and the citys staff, sympathies were extended to Mike and Donna Morgan and their family.
