Early on Monday morning, the westbound 10 Freeway in Pomona was temporarily closed due to a collision involving a FedEx truck and another vehicle. The traffic incident was reported to have occurred around 4:15 a.m. close to the 57 Freeway, according to information provided by the California Highway Patrol.
The extent of the injuries resulting from the crash, if any, was not known immediately after the incident. As a consequence of this traffic event, a SigAlert was issued, officially announcing the closure of all westbound lanes on the 10 Freeway for the necessary accident response actions.
The repercussion of this incident extended to surrounding traffic, with reports indicating a significant buildup. There were delays for motorists on the westbound 10 Freeway due to the diversion onto the 57 Freeway to avoid the accident scene. This diversion was part of the operation to manage the spillage of oil from the vehicles involved onto the roadway.
Traffic was reported as being backed up for a 2 to 3 mile stretch on the westbound side of the freeway at 5:30 a.m. Progress was made, and by 8:19 a.m., the freeway was reported as cleared. The lanes were then reopened to the public, marking approximately four hours from the initial crash report to complete traffic restoration on the westbound 10 Freeway.
