An incident involving a wrong-way driver collision occurred in the area of Jamboree Road, south of Warner Avenue in Irvine, Orange County, early Monday morning at around 1:35 a.m. Local law enforcement officers, specifically Irvine Police, were the first responders at the scene. The vehicle involved was identified as a Hyundai Elantra driven by a man who was traveling on the wrong side of the northbound lanes of Jamboree Road.

As per initial reports, the vehicle collided head-on with an oncoming car. The collision resulted in serious injuries to the driver, a 29-year-old male identified as Joshua Kevin Soto from La Habra. Emergency medical teams were called to the scene. Joshua Soto was quickly transported to the local hospital due to his worsening condition, unfortunately, he did not survive the injuries and later passed away at the hospital.

The driver of the second vehicle involved in the crash did not sustain any injuries as reported by the local police. The circumstances leading to this wrong-way driving crash are still unclear and under investigation, including determining if there was any influence of alcohol or drugs on the driver. No further details were available at the time of reporting, as investigating authorities continue to explore the case further.
