In the High Desert area, a fatal incident occurred on Halloween involving three vehicles, as reported by the San Bernardino County Sheriffs Department. The event unfolded around 1:38 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 395 and Auburn Avenue in Adelanto, where deputies arrived in response to a reported multi-car collision.

The collision involved a white Chevrolet Blazer, a blue Volkswagen Golf, and a semi-truck. Prior to the three-vehicle collision, the Chevrolet and Volkswagen had been involved in a separate incident, which resulted in the Chevrolet veering into the path of the semi-truck. The investigation revealed that the Chevrolet had merged into the southbound lanes of Highway 395, sideswiping the Volkswagen Golf travelling in the same direction. Following the impact, both vehicles crossed into the northbound lanes, where the Chevrolet ended up colliding head-on with the semi-truck.

The Chevrolets driver was declared deceased on the scene. As protocol dictates, their identity is being withheld until next of kin can be notified. Fortunately, both the driver of the semi-truck and the Volkswagen sustained no injuries in the incident, as stated by authorities.

The Sheriffs Department encourages anyone with information that can contribute to the investigation to contact Deputy J. Guzman at Victor Valley Sheriffs Station at 760-552-6800. Anonymous submissions can be made through We-Tip at 1-800-782-7463 or online.
