A fatal motor accident was reported on Monday morning at the Inland Empires 60 Freeway. The collision claimed at least one life and caused a disruption in the regular traffic flow. According to the primary report, the accident happened at 4:50 am, on the eastbound direction of the 60 Freeway, just west of Country Village Road in Jurupa Valley. The specifics of the crash have not been fully disclosed.

As a response to the incident, a SigAlert was issued. A SigAlert is defined as a notice to motorists warning them of unexpected traffic due to unplanned events like road accidents. Notably, the accident led to the closure of the entire freeway, except for the westbound high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane, marking the initiation of the investigation into the incident. In addition, authorities confirmed that a fatality investigation was in progress.

From the data collected from the California Highway Patrols incident log, the vehicle involved in the collision drifted off the freeway while heading east on the 60, eventually spiraling off the freeway and landing in an attached industrial zone off Wabash Drive. A viewer sent a photograph to KTLA showing a car that had seemingly driven off the freeway and collided with a stationed truck in a parking lot. The truck belonged to a window company associated with her husband.

By 6:45 am, at least one lane of the eastbound 60 had been reopened, but traffic remained slow-moving, as indicated by KTLA traffic reporter Ginger Chan. The SigAlert was called off by 7:30 am. There are no further details regarding the cause of the accident or possible injuries from other parties.
