A severe collision occurred on the 91 Freeway in Buena Park, leading to three fatalities. The unfortunate event took place on Friday morning. The exact time of the incident was reported as 3:53 a.m., based on the information provided by the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The incident involved a pickup truck carrying three passengers. Prior to the fatal collision, the pickup truck was involved in a solo crash, resulting in a spinout. This left the vehicle immobilized in the middle of the eastbound lanes of the 91 near Valley View Street. While in that position, the disabled pickup truck was hit by a tractor truck.

The impact led to all three adults present in the pickup truck to be pronounced dead on-site by the responding authorities. Following the incident, all lanes of the 91 Freeway were closed for several hours for the necessary investigation and cleanup. However, all lanes were successfully reopened to traffic by 09:09 a.m.

As of this time, the CHP has not released additional details, including the identities of the deceased persons. The factors contributing towards this crash remain unclear – it is yet to be determined if speed or impact of rain were involved in sparking the incident. Investigations are ongoing to establish the exact cause of the crash.
