A collision involving a FedEx truck and another vehicle resulted in multiple lane closures on the westbound 10 Freeway in Pomona, California, in the early hours of Monday morning. The crash was first reported at approximately 4:15 a.m. just to the east of the 57 Freeway, as per information provided by the California Highway Patrol.
The severity and extent of any injuries caused by the incident have not been confirmed yet. Shortly after the crash, a SigAlert announcement was issued, notifying the closure of all westbound lanes on the 10 Freeway. This news resulted in significant traffic congestion, with traffic backed up for several miles.
Drivers using the westbound 10 Freeway were instructed to divert their route onto the 57 Freeway as the clean-up operation for oil spillage on the roadway was underway. An aerial view of the scene at around 5:30 a.m. revealed a backlog of traffic extending 2 to 3 miles on the westbound side of the freeway.
By 6:53 a.m., progress was made in clearing the road with the carpool and two other lanes resuming operation. However, two lanes remained shut for an indefinite period. Continuous updates will follow as this story develops.
