Four Teenagers Arrested Following High-Speed Pursuit in San Bernardino County

Four teenage males aged between 14 and 16 years were arrested in San Bernardino County following allegations of vehicle theft and engagement in a high-speed pursuit. The youths, hailing from diverse locations across California—Arcadia, Plascencia, West Covina, and Los Angeles—have been held by the local deputies, although information pertaining to their identities has been withheld due to their age.

On the incident date, February 23, an air of commotion gripped the Adelanto area as deputies observed a white Toyota Camry swaying into oncoming traffic before attempting a direct collision with their vehicle. The attempted pull-over by deputies was thwarted, prompting a pursuit. The Camry, driven by the 14-year-old suspect, exhibited reckless tendencies, hitting speeds of 110 miles per hour (mph).

The pursuit ensued across Victorville and stretched onto the northbound 15 Freeway, finally terminating at Barstow. Here, a defective transmission led to the vehicle crashing, marking the end of the wild chase. All four teenage suspects were taken into custody at the scene.

Upon further investigation, deputies confirmed the theft of the vehicle by the 15-year-old suspect from a family member in West Covina. The 14 and 15-year-old suspects were subsequently placed under arrest and detained at the High Desert Juvenile Detention and Assessment Center, whereas the other two individuals were released into the custody of their parents.

Three out of the four detained juveniles have been documented as gang affiliates by the authorities. Deputies have kept further details under wraps, indicating an ongoing investigation. Information regarding the case can be shared with Deputy J. Villasenor at the Victor Valley Sheriffs Station. Online and anonymous tips can also be submitted.

Home burgled, electrical works tampered with and tires of vehicles deflated in San Gabriel Valley

On February 19, the San Marino Police Department launched an investigation following reports of a home burglary in the 2500 block of Ridgeway Road, San Marino, in the San Gabriel Valley. The homeowner alleged that his domicile was burgled while he and his son were away at work, and their housekeeper was out at lunch.

In a peculiar sequence of events, upon returning from work, the residents discovered that their vehicles tires had been deflated. Upon arrival, the housekeeper noted before the homeowners arrived that a window had been broken to gain access via the rear balcony door, and significant disorder was found in the master bedroom. It was also reported that the homes electrical box was tampered with and an electrical room on the second floor was vandalized, with wires pulled out and the internet modem misplaced.

At this time, the items stolen from the home have not been detailed by the police, and the total loss incurred by the victim is yet to be ascertained. The investigation is presently ongoing with a forensics technician from the Pasadena Police Department assisting. Detectives are extensively examining the neighborhood and scrutinizing acquired surveillance footage.

Street Vendor among Three Injured in Vehicular Collision in Los Angeles Koreatown

A brutal vehicular collision resulted in a street tamale vendor and two others, one a minor, getting rushed to the hospital in Koreatown, Los Angeles on Monday morning. The collision took place just before 6 a.m. at the intersection of Western Avenue and 3rd Street according to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD). Preliminary information suggests that two sedans, a black Chevrolet Volt and a red Kia Stinger collided with each other at the location.

The impact evidence indicates they subsequently veered towards the sidewalk, hitting a pedestrian. This individual has been identified as a vendor actively selling tamales at that time. The exact condition of the victims upon admission to the hospital has not been released, although it was clarified by LAFD Public Information Officer, Cpt. Adam VanGerpen, that none were in critical condition.

In the aftermath of the accident, aerial footage captured by Sky5 showed debris strewn across 3rd Street, with the two sedans positioned significantly apart on opposite sides of the road. This led Cpt. Van Gerpen to suggest that the collision likely occurred at high speed, resulting in the extent of the impact and subsequent dispersion of the vehicles. He further advised the public to be cautious and to slow down when driving, especially during early morning hours.

The intersection at Western Avenue and 3rd Street was expected to remain closed for several hours following the incident for investigation purposes. The data source for this article, excluding first-hand reportage by KTLA photojournalist, Chris Gierowski, primarily comes from official updates and news reports by California Highway Patrol and the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Traffic Collision in Los Angeles Koreatown Results in Three Hospitalized

A significant vehicle collision occurred in Los Angeles Koreatown on Monday morning, leading to three individuals being transported to the hospital. Initial information, later verified by the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), indicated the collision happened right before 6 a.m. at the crossroads of Western Avenue and 3rd Street. The crash involved two vehicles that seemed to T-bone each other and subsequently hit a pedestrian.

Public Information Officer Cpt. Adam VanGerpen elaborated that during the crash, two vehicles made contact and consequently struck an individual on the sidewalk. The victim on the footpath was a street vendor selling tamales.

The other patients included two adults and a minor. Although their exact conditions were unknown at the moment, it was confirmed by Cpt. VanGerpen that their states were not critical. Aerial visuals obtained by Sky5 depicted debris strewn across 3rd Street while teams cleared the scene and evaluated the drivers. The two cars involved in the collision, a black Chevrolet Volt and a red Kia Stinger, were observed significantly apart from each other on opposing lanes of the street. This positioning suggests speed might have been a factor contributing to the accident, as per Cpt. VanGerpen.

The comments from Cpt. VanGerpen indicate high speeds may have exacerbated the accident, judging from the abundant skid marks present at the scene. A reminder was highlighted that it is crucial for people to maintain safe speeds, especially considering the timing of the accident. The collision site is anticipated to be closed for several hours pending further investigation.

Fatal Crash Follows Canceled Pursuit in Bell Gardens

An unfortunate sequence of events unfolded in Bell Gardens on Saturday near Florence Avenue when a routine traffic stop initiated by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) turned into a high-speed chase, ultimately culminating in a fatal crash. The CHP spokesperson informed that the officers gave chase when the driver in question did not yield at their command.

The suspect in a white sedan disregarded multiple traffic signals and was driving at alarmingly high speeds. Due to the escalating risk, the CHP decided to terminate the pursuit. However, shortly after the chase was called off, the suspect vehicle crashed at the junction of Randolph Street and Eastern Avenue.

On arrival, the paramedics pronounced one of the vehicles occupants dead at the crash site. Another occupant was rushed to a local hospital, but their condition remains undisclosed. The immediate aftermath saw the crash site strewn with debris, and the suspect vehicle severely damaged.

There were indications from witnesses that the crash possibly involved an innocent pedestrian as well. A bystander, Arturo Esquivel, shared his observations about the incident. He assumed that an object that he initially thought to be clothes turned out to be a human body, which had collided with the bus station pole.

Although the CHP spokesperson did not confirm a pedestrians involvement, they did disclose that three people from the suspect vehicle were detained, of which one person fled from the scene after being initially detained. At this point, it is unclear if they have been taken back into custody. The crash is currently being investigated by officials from the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department.

Upon officers arrival, three minutes post the call, at the 500 block of West Merrill Avenue, they discovered a female passenger suffering from life-threatening injuries.
