Sheriffs deputies in California are currently searching for the driver of a stolen water truck following a series of events in Santa Clarita and Valencia neighborhoods on Sunday night.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and other news sources, the water truck in question was stolen from a dealership in Santa Clarita around 11:15 pm. Subsequently spotted by Los Angeles County sheriffs deputies, a pursuit ensued, which led authorities through Santa Clarita and into Valencia.

The chase terminated when the stolen water truck crashed into a black four-door sedan at an intersection between Wiley Canyon Road and Tournament Road in Valencia. The incident occurred on October 27, 2024, as reported by freelance media firm KNN.

Following the collision, the driver of the stolen water truck escaped from the scene, seeking refuge in a neighboring community. Despite the immediate commencement of a search operation by deputies, the suspect remained at large.

Available reports do not clarify whether the occupants of the black sedan impacted during the chase were injured. However, emergency medical services dispatched an ambulance to the location of the crash. Further updates regarding the incident will be released as investigations progress.
