Police in Bell Gardens initiated a chase on Friday targeting a driver suspected of vehicle theft in the Los Angeles area. The report signals that the pursued vehicle was reportedly a gray 2015 Hyundai Sonata. The car was allegedly stolen from the jurisdiction of the Los Angeles Police Department Pacific Division.

At approximately 4:40 p.m., the said vehicle halted near the crossroads of North Gay and East 66th streets in Inglewood. Following this, both the driver and a passenger disembarked from the car and made attempts to flee on foot towards a nearby property.

However, the passenger reportedly altered their course before reaching the property and was subsequently detained by the officers on the scene. The driver persisted to a corner residence property but was shortly after located and detained by police.

While the police have yet to confirm the arrests officially, it is unclear whether the initial alleged crime was indeed vehicle theft. Information related to the identity of the detained individuals has also yet to be released.

A fatal collision occurred in Reseda, California, according to officials, leaving one 19-year-old male dead and another individual critically wounded. The accident was reported on Thursday morning along Sherman Way, just east of Corbin Avenue with reports indicating trapped victims in the wreckage.

The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed the incident stating that two individuals from the wreck required extrication. Additionally, details emerged of a third individual who was at the scene attempting to help extricate the victims prior to the arrival of the emergency services. This person too was transported to the hospital. In the early hours of November 7, 2024, a severe two-vehicle collision occurred on Sherman Way, just east of Corbin Avenue in Reseda, as confirmed by the Los Angeles Fire Department. On Wednesday morning, traffic on the 5 Freeway was significantly disrupted due to multiple collisions. The first reported accident occurred just before 5 a.m. at the southbound span of the 5 at Roxford Street in Sylmar. This incident involved a big rig and another vehicle, which flipped over the center divider and landed on the northbound side.

It was estimated that up to seven vehicles were part of the initial collision. The first responders found the scene ‘dramatic as the flipped vehicle was wedged between the center divider and the semi-truck trailer. The big rig was also found leaking fluid, leading to additional concerns.

Following the first crash, a serious traffic backup occurred on the southbound side of the 5, extending past the 14 Freeway. The 14 Freeway was also impacted with traffic jams reaching up to the Sand Canyon exit. By 8:15 a.m., delays on the 14 South extended back to Soledad Canyon Road. It remains unknown the status of the drivers involved in the collision.

Adding to the mornings traffic problems on 5 Freeway, there was also a reported vehicle fire on the northbound side not long after the first crash. This augmented the delays for drivers, predominantly those exiting the San Fernando Valley.

Subsequently, a second collision involving a big rig was reported around 6:45 a.m. Which took place near the freeways interchange with the 118 Freeway in San Fernando. The incident involved a second big rig, with the vehicle possessing a severely damaged front end. The trucks driver was critically injured and had to be evacuated by the first responders to a nearby hospital. This led to all but the carpool lane being blocked on the southbound side resulting in more miles of traffic jams.

A shooting incident that occurred on September 10, 2021, led to the arrest and charging of a 30-year-old Glendale man. The man, identified as Ramon Alberto Carrillo, has been charged with attempted murder.

The incident began when the Burbank Police Department responded to reports of a male gunshot victim being admitted to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center a few minutes before 5 p.m. Medical staff at the hospital could confirm the man had sustained a single gunshot wound, hence requiring transfer to a trauma center for further treatment.

According to information provided by the victim who was later discharged from the hospital, the shooting took place near Victory Boulevard and Allen Avenue in Glendale. Detectives investigations revealed that Carrillo was on the said location, driving. He spotted another car occupied by three individuals who he suspected were members of a rival gang. It was then that Carrillo reportedly asked his girlfriend and their 7-year-old child to exit their vehicle, before he began firing multiple rounds at the other car. The shooting resulted in one of the occupants of the other car getting struck, before Carrillo left the scene.

On October 30, Carrillo, already out on bail linked to an unrelated felony firearm drug possession case from Los Angeles, was found in a Chatsworth community and peacefully arrested. Following the filing of the case with the L.A. County District Attorneys office, Carrillo was charged with one count of shooting at an occupied vehicle and three counts of attempted murder. He has since remained in custody with no bail, as stated by officials.

Anaheim police announced on Monday that they have arrested a suspect involved in a hit-and-run accident. The man, identified as Hassan Hamid Ali, was taken into custody on felony charges stemming from an incident that occurred on November 1, 2024.

Ali is believed to have been the driver of a black Dodge Charger caught on video during an illegal street demonstration where vehicles were performing high-speed maneuvers, including burnouts and donuts. The incident took place at the intersection of Orangewood Avenue and State College Boulevard.

The video footage showed the Charger navigating dangerously close to a crowd of spectators, before eventually striking several people and trapping two 19-year-old males underneath the vehicle. The crowd then mobilized to lift the vehicle off the teens, who appeared to be severely injured. Both were transported to the hospital with significant injuries but were reported to be in stable condition later that day.

After the car struck the crowd, Ali allegedly fled the scene on foot, evading immediate capture. He was, however, identified and apprehended within three days of the incident. Along with the felony hit-and-run charge, Ali has also been booked for an exhibition of speed.
