A 26-year-old woman named Geraldine Caicedo-Perez is facing charges of manslaughter after another woman lost her life in a head-on collision in Mission Viejo. The incident occurred in the early hours of New Years Day, according to a news release by the Orange County Sheriffs Department.

The accident site was pinpointed at the intersection of Marguerite Parkway and Pueblonuevo Drive. Responding deputies reported a head-on collision between a Chevrolet Malibu and a Toyota Camry. Initial findings suggest that the Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Caicedo-Perez, was heading the wrong way in the southbound lanes of Marguerite Parkway which led to the collision.

The occupant of the Camry, a woman believed to be in her 60s, was rushed to a local hospital, but unfortunately was pronounced dead on arrival. Caicedo-Perez and her passenger, both in the Malibu, sustained injuries and were subsequently hospitalised.

After the incident, Caicedo-Perez was taken into custody, suspected of driving under the influence and gross vehicular manslaughter. The deputies confirmed that she has been booked into the Orange County Jail. Unfortunately, her bail status and next court appearance have not been disclosed at this time.

Long Beach police are currently in search of a suspect involved in a hit-and-run incident that left a woman injured and hospitalized. The incident occurred on December 26 at around 4:45 p.m. at the intersection of California Avenue and San Antonio Drive.

The suspect, identified as a male, was reportedly driving eastbound on San Antonio Drive when he allegedly ran a red light and collided with the victims car. Police reports indicate he briefly exited his vehicle after the crash but returned and fled the scene shortly afterward.

The holiday season turned tragic for a California state senator as his grandchild was killed in a car crash. The incident happened near California State Route 18 in Apple Valley on the night before Christmas Eve.

On early Tuesday morning, authorities began their search for a hit-and-run driver involved in a fatal accident on the 101 Freeway in Camarillo. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a car and a semi-truck were initially suspected to be involved in the incident, as reported by the first caller.

Upon reaching the site near Carmen Drive on the northbound side of the freeway, officers discovered that the actual vehicles in question were a black 2007 Lexus IS 250 and a gray 2010 Ford Mustang. The preliminary analysis of the events suggest that the Lexus was moving at an increased speed in the northbound lanes before it maneuvered towards the right and collided into a concrete wall. This led the car to roll over and stop in the lanes.

Within seconds, the Lexus was struck by the Ford Mustang which subsequently propelled into the center dividers guard rail, CHP reports indicated. The Lexuss driver, a 40-year-old Oxnard man, was transported to Ventura County Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. The Ford Mustangs driver reportedly fled the scene on foot post-crash and his whereabouts remain unknown.

The Lexus driver, a 40-year-old man from Oxnard, was transported to Ventura County Medical Center but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Ford Mustang fled the scene of the accident on foot and is yet to be found.
