An ambulance belonging to the American Medical Response was involved in a crash in the early hours of Monday on the Vineyard Avenue offramp of the westbound 60 Freeway, in the city of Ontario. The incident was reported to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) around 1:15 AM.

The ambulance, after exiting the freeway, apparently lost control and crashed into some bushes and could have crashed into a pole, after veering over a minor embankment. The extent of damage incurred by the ambulance is evident in videos that surfaced following the incident.

Details pertaining to the ambulances trip, including the presence or absence of a patient onboard during the time of the accident, were not disclosed by the spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol. Furthermore, the conditions of the ambulance driver and any potential passengers in the vehicle remain unknown.

A second ambulance was dispatched to the crash scene. It is yet to be determined whether any individuals were transported to medical facilities for treatment or observation. As far as the crashed ambulance is concerned, it was eventually towed away from the scene. By 2 AM, the involved roadway was cleared and the flow of traffic restored to normalcy, as confirmed by the CHP.

The cause behind the crash is currently under investigation. More details will likely be released upon the conclusion of this inquiry.
