Officers from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to a reported single-vehicle accident in the downtown area of Los Angeles, towards the early hours of Thursday. The incident proceeded at approximately 2:00 a.m. on Alameda Street, in close proximity to East Cesar E. Chavez Avenue. The vehicle in question was a high-end Lamborghini Urus, a popular SUV whose starting price is roughly $250,000.
Upon reaching the scene, law enforcement noticed damage to the rear of the luxury vehicle. The Lamborghinis airbags had also been activated, signaling a collision had indeed taken place. However, the automobile was devoid of any occupants, raising questions regarding the whereabouts of its driver.
Local freelance media firm, KNN, reported further updates from the scene. According to them, investigators relayed that preliminary indications show no evidence of the Lamborghini being a stolen vehicle. However, who was operating the vehicle at the time of the accident remains unclear since it was abandoned post-crash, along with inquiries regarding the reason for the same.
Consequently, local authorities have escalated the investigation, focusing on locating the driver who chose to desert the vehicle. The circumstances leading to the abandonment, despite the accident seeming relatively mild, form a critical part of this ongoing investigation.
