A fatal pedestrian incident occurred in Orange County, leading to the death of a 63-year-old man. The Santa Ana Police Department reported the victim, identified as George Estrada Tellez of Costa Mesa, was struck by multiple vehicles near 1st Street and Center Street. The incident happened on Friday around 5:57 p.m.

After receiving several calls regarding the accident, both the law enforcement officers and Orange County fire personnel were dispatched to the location. On arrival, rescue teams discovered that Tellez had been hit by two vehicles. He received immediate medical attention at the site before being transported to a nearby hospital. Despite efforts to save his life, Tellez later succumbed to his injuries.

Initial reports from the Santa Ana Police Department indicated that three vehicles were involved in the accident, one of which allegedly left the scene. However, the departments latest statement clarifies that only two vehicles were involved in the incident. Both drivers remained at the scene and were cooperative with investigators. Authorities stated that neither of the drivers seemed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The case remains under the investigation of the Santa Ana Police Departments Collision Investigations Unit (CIU).
