The two individuals killed in a recent plane crash in Fullerton, California have been identified as Pascal Reid, a pilot from Huntington Beach, and his 16-year-old daughter, Kelly Reid. Both were confirmed to have been killed in the incident by information published on social media by the Huntington Beach High School girls soccer and flag football teams.

Kelly Reid, a junior at Huntington Beach High School, was a player for both the girls varsity soccer and the flag football teams, as well as the schools lacrosse team. Her father, Pascal Reid, was identified as the pilot of the crashed aircraft.

The plane, a Vans RV-10 single-engine home-built model, departed from Fullerton Municipal Airport on January 2, 2025. Shortly after takeoff, the pilot attempted an emergency landing, but the plane crashed onto the roof of a furniture manufacturing warehouse located around 1,000 feet from the airport runway. The crash also caused a fire within the building.

Along with the two fatalities, 19 individuals who were inside the Michael Nicholas Designs warehouse at the time of the crash were injured, with several suffering from burns. Of the injured, 11 were taken to local hospitals for treatment, while the remaining eight were treated on scene and released.

Firefighters worked to extinguish the fire within the warehouse, following which nearby structures were evacuated. The warehouse was subsequently red-tagged resulting from the crash. Officials from the aviation industry announced that they were investigating the circumstances of the crash.

Pascal Reid had apparently communicated to air traffic control before the crash, indicating an emergency that necessitated immediate return to the airport. The wreckage from the crash will be transported to a remote storage facility for further investigation.

Following the crash, a vigil was held at First Christian Church in Huntington Beach on January 3, 2025, in honor of the victims. Additional details about the accident are expected to be released in the following week.
