A plane crash incident occurred on Thursday afternoon in Fullerton, resulting in two fatalities and 19 injuries. The plane crashed into a warehouse on the 2300 block of West Raymer Avenue, near the Fullerton Municipal Airport, around 2:10 pm.

The crash sparked a fire, leading to the initial reporting as a structure fire. Firefighters responded to the scene, battling the blaze within the warehouse. Surrounding buildings had to be evacuated due to the incident.

First responders treated an undisclosed number of victims at the crash site. Nearby ambulances were on standby for transportation to local hospitals. At 2:40 pm, the Fullerton Police Department reported an unspecified number of casualties. However, by 4:45 pm, the police confirmed nine hospital transportations, six onsite treatments and releases, and two fatalities. Three more injuries were reported later.

The plane, identified as an experimental aircraft, typically used for non-commercial recreation, required licensing and inspection from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Witness videos from the Citizen App showed a large plume of black smoke coming out of a hole created in the buildings roof due to the crash.

The Fullerton City Council issued a statement appreciating the acts of courage and unwavering dedication displayed by the first responders. Fullerton Mayor Fred Jung expressed gratitude to the communitys strength and compassion in the face of crisis. The council is committed to providing support to those affected by the tragedy.

Post the incident, several roads near the scene of the crash were closed, and police have advised drivers to avoid the area. Investigation into the case remains ongoing.
