An incident involving a semi-truck has resulted in the partial closure of multiple lanes of the northbound 5 Freeway in Los Angeles County. According to data acquired from the California Highway Patrol and other news sources, the crash occurred at around 3 a.m. on Sunday, south of the Parker Road exit in Castaic.
As a result of the crash, the truck left the roadway, removing a portion of the guardrail before ending up in a waterway. As a precautionary measure, efforts are underway to prevent fuel leakage from the truck into the waterway. An authoritative comment stated that the waterway will eventually drain into the ocean, so were controlling the spillage to ensure that no fuel enters the waterway during vehicle extraction.
The projected timeline for the closure of the #3 and #4 lanes was set at around six hours following the incident. Additionally, the cause of the crash is currently under investigation. The semi-truck driver, who was transported from the crash site for medical attention, has not been named at this time.
Given the circumstances, authorities have advised commuters intending to travel through the Grapevine on Sunday morning to exercise caution and prepare for potential delays.
