On Monday afternoon, a severe accident involving a school bus and an SUV occurred in Orange County, resulting in serious injuries to five individuals, including two children and three adults. The incident was reported by fire officials from Orange County Fire Authority.

The collision between the SUV and small school bus took place near Santiago Canyon Road and Red Rock Canyon Trail, with the initial distress call to the fire authority made at 3:07 p.m. Emergency crews promptly reached the accident site and attended to the five injured individuals. Though their conditions were reported as stable, they were deemed to be in a serious state.

The authorities have not released detailed information regarding the identities or ages of the victims, or the vehicle they were in at the time of the crash. However, no further specifics about the actual cause of the accident or the role of speeding in the crash have been ascertained to date.

Graphic images captured at the site revealed both vehicles in a damaged state, sprawled across the two-lane road. Particularly, severe impact damage was noticed on the drivers side of the school bus. The images also depicted emergency first responders attending to the victims at the site.

Reports confirmed the presence of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) at the accident site, conducting a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances leading to the incident.
