A serious road collision that took place in North Hills, California, resulted in a driver landing in a wash and requiring a specialized rescue operation from the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD). The incident occurred just before 5 p.m. on Saturday near 15100 West Parthenia St.

Two vehicles were involved in this mishap. The drivers car collided with another vehicle, after which it ended up in the wash. Initial dispatches to the fire department indicated that the driver was immured in the wash and necessitated an auto-extrication operation. However, upon arrival and subsequent evaluation of the scene, it was discerned that while the driver was not ensnared, a litter basket operation was needed to ensure their safe retrieval from the wash.
