California Highway Patrol (CHP) and other news sources report an appeal by the Upland Police Department for public aid in identifying two vehicles implicated in a fatal hit-and-run that occurred in Upland last month. The vehicles are tied to a crash resulting in the death of 21-year-old Chino resident, Michael Yanez.
The incident transpired on November 30, approximately 5:30 p.m., on West 8th Street, just east of San Antonio Avenue. Officers who responded to the scene found that Yanez had been hit by two vehicles that left the scene without stopping.
Police are currently seeking a white or silver Jeep Wrangler and a light blue minivan. Both vehicles are believed to have struck Yanez, leading to his death due to associated injuries.
The Jeep Wrangler, according to visuals provided by the Upland Police Department, has been lifted with an aftermarket front bumper, exhibits a drivers side hi-lift jack situated near the fender, and features a black hard top along with black rocker guards on the bodys sides. Unfortunately, there was no additional description available for the minivan.
The Upland Police Department continues its efforts to locate the involved vehicles and drivers, requesting anyone with any information about these vehicles to contact Officer Santana at 909-946-7624 x 2606 or through email at [email protected].
