On the night of Tuesday, a high-speed chase took in the High Desert area of Southern California, ending in a violent crash. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) units disclosed that they began the pursuit of a gray SUV on the 15 Freeway at around 11:50 p.m. The reason for the initial attempt to stop the driver has not been disclosed by the CHP.
According to preliminary information, the SUV was traversing southbound along the 15 Freeway close to Victorville when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle then veered off the highway, rolled over multiple times, which led to the ejection of all four passengers inside.
All four occupants of the vehicle were rushed to the hospital after the crash. The extent of their injuries and their current conditions are currently unknown. Video footage of the aftermath, obtained by KTLA, displays the severely damaged SUV on its side on a hill next to the roadway. The passengers were seen being loaded into waiting ambulances.
Following the crash, it is reported that multiple firearms were recovered from the vehicle by the officers on the scene. Further details surrounding the pursuit and the resulting crash are expected to be availed by the CHP who are currently being reached out to by KTLA.
