According to recent data released by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department (LASD), an incident initially reported as a double shooting in a Compton strip mall is now being investigated as a murder-suicide. The incident occurred late night at around 11:05 PM on Monday, in the 900 block of South Central Avenue near Alondra Boulevard.

Investigative data provided by LASD reveals that the incident commenced with the suspect intentionally ramming his vehicle into another car, where the victims were seated. This was followed by the male and female victims exiting the vehicle. The suspect, subsequent to the collision, pursued the victims and gunfire was exchanged.

The male victim fled towards a gas station but was not hit by the gunfire. The female victim, seeking refuge in a nearby business, was pursued by the suspect and fatally shot. The suspect was later found in the business with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at a local hospital upon arrival.

The male victim, despite evading the gunfire, was transported to a local hospital to treat potential injuries from the initial vehicular collision. His current condition remains unknown. Authorities do not believe the incident to be random, although the nature of the relationship between the suspect and victims remains unclear.

Both LA Sheriffs Department and Crime Stoppers have requested any individuals with information to reach out. These sources have provided their contact information for tips related to this incident, registration numbers being 323-890-5500 for LASDs Homicide Bureau and 1-800-222-8477 for Crime Stoppers.
