A total of seven people were caught up in a significant rollover car crash in downtown Los Angeles, with three of those involved assigned to critical care. The California Highway Patrol reported that at least two vehicles were involved in the collision. The incident occurred at Broadway and Cesar Chavez Avenues intersection, situated near the entrance of the Chinatown district, at approximately 12:40 a.m. on Saturday.
The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed that three of the victims were in a critical condition during transportation, two of whom were trapped in the wreckage and thus required extrication procedures. The condition of the remaining four individuals is currently unknown to fire officials, adding a layer of uncertainty about the overall impact of the incident.
Images generated by the Citizen App, documenting the immediate aftermath of the crash that took place early on Saturday, November 30, 2024, reveal a rather grim scene. One of the vehicles ended up flipped onto its rooftop on the sidewalk, while the second vehicle was noted to have incurred substantial damage as a result of the collision.
Currently, the involvement of speed or impairment as contributing factors to the collision remains unconfirmed. By Saturday morning (6 a.m.), the police had dispersed from the scene after carrying out their preliminary investigations. Further updates regarding the events leading up to the incident and the condition of the individuals involved are expected as investigations progress.
