A high-speed chase initiated by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers ended violently when a vehicle slammed into a residential property in West Los Angeles on Saturday night. According to police updates, three individuals involved in the incident have been detained, and a firearm was recovered from the scene.

The pursuit began around 9:45 p.m. on the northbound lane of the 405 Freeway near Sepulveda Boulevard exit. Preliminary details indicate that CHP officers instigated the chase when they noticed a burgundy Dodge Durango SUV driving along the freeways sidelines and refusing to obey traffic commands.

The driver then made an unexpected exit off the freeway and turned southbound on the 405, finally leaving the freeway at Culver Boulevard, Culver City. Shortly after making the exit, the SUV lost control, hitting a guardrail before crashing into a residential building.

Emergency first responders extricated the four occupants of the crashed vehicle. The passengers were reportedly not severely hurt, with no reported injuries from the residents of the impacted home.

A passenger from the crashed vehicle spoke to a news stringer service, OnSceneTV, recounting the terrifying experience. In a subsequent update at around 9 a.m., a CHP spokesperson confirmed that three of the four vehicle occupants had been arrested, with a firearm found at the scene.

The identity of those arrested and the specific charges laid against them remain undisclosed. An inspection of the impacted house resulted in a red-tagging, indicating it is unsafe for occupation following the collision.
