A severe vehicular accident in Los Angeles Harbor Gateway region caused brief hospitalization of two officers from the Los Angeles Police Department. The incident, which happened near the intersection of South Figueroa Street and West Rosecrans Avenue, involved a suspected under-aged motorist charged with driving under the influence.

The details surrounding the circumstances leading to the two-vehicle crash are still unclear. Visuals from the scene, included in the report by KTLA, showed both vehicles suffering from extensive damage. There was a heavy presence of law enforcement and fire department officials at the site of the incident.

The patrol vehicle of the officers was found completely overturned, leaning towards its front end. Skid marks and significant dents on the drivers side door were indicative of the force of the impact. Both vehicles had their airbags deployed due to the violent collision. The civilian car, a red, four-door Ford sedan, also demonstrated significant front-end damage.

The juvenile driver was subjected to a roadside sobriety test by the officers. After subsequent analysis, the suspected minor was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Both officers, who sustained minor injuries during the incident, were admitted to a hospital with the assistance of medical personnel from the Los Angeles Fire Department.
