Adam Bouvet, a 50-year-old resident of Southern California, tragically passed away after saving his family from an out-of-control vehicle. According to chronology of events obtained from the California Highway Patrol and other local news sources, on October 25, Adam was walking home with his wife, Tracy, and his daughter in Dallas, Texas after a visit to his eldest daughter and grandson.
Suddenly, a vehicle lost control, drove over the curb, and headed towards the Bouvet family. Witnesses state that Adam pushed his family out of the way, absorbing the most impact himself. Following the incident, Adam was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a nearby hospital with a traumatic brain injury. Despite undergoing emergency surgery, he later succumbed to his injuries.
His wife suffered minor injuries while their two daughters and grandchild werent physically harmed. Friends and family remember Adam as a generous, humorous, and kind man, with a remark from his friend, Brad Neet, indicating that Tracy would assert that Adam saved her life.
For 17 years, Adam co-owned The Mill Restaurant, a popular spot in Murrieta, California. The community congregation at the restaurant to honor Adam, leaving behind flowers, cards, and mementos. Local businesses are organizing fundraisers to assist the Bouvet family with medical and funeral expenses, demonstrating the beloved figure that Adam was within the community.
